Many companies have an awful internal voicemail system. First, the system is standalone — meaning it’s not connected to your cellphone voicemail, which most outside salespeople check and rely on more than their office line. Secondly, several systems are very static — they don’t interrupt you to let you know you’ve got a new voicemail; you’ve got check them as the day or week rolls by.

For busy people, that’s just one more thing on the checklist, and a waste of time when there’s nothing new for them to hear.

Enter Phonevite.com. Simple to use and pretty cool. It’s an outgoing corporate voicemail system with a few niceties added. Phonevite allows you to broadcast updates and other reminders to your team, instantly. While the system is in beta, it’s free, allowing you to record a message (via online system or call-in). Phonevite then calls the people in the “group” you designate and either plays the message from you when they answer, or records it if their voicemail picks up.

And here’s where the cool factor kicks in. Wrap up your broadcast with a simple yes/no question, and recipients can respond with a yes, no, or not sure, or they can immediately respond with a voicemail of their own to you. This could be a great sales tool for remote sales teams.

Check it out…
