We wrote a post last week about various tools that can help you keep track of items that need a reminder.

Record Your Action ItemsThink of an action item at the end of a meeting or something else that needs follow-up.

Ideally, you’d write these down right away - but sometimes you can’t. So we wrote about voice-enabled services like Jott and Remember the Milk to help you stay on track. You call the service with your cellphone or Blackberry, record a message and you’re reminded later.

But little did we know that drop.io, an online collaboration and storage service we reviewed before, also added the ability to record voice notes. Now, this is getting to be pretty cool.

If you remember, drop.io lets you create a so-called “drop” - an online location where you can store files, links to websites and various pieces of text.

We liked it a lot because we could see if being used for pre-call planning between managers and a reps or for a selling team, in capturing and collecting important information about a prospect. Names and contacts, a proposal, links to the website and press releases. Everything in one place. Secure and always available.

And now drop.io added the ability to record a voice messages. You’re leaving your prospect with a list of tasks. Grab your phone and call drop.io - enter your unique drop number and add your tasks for this prospect by phone. A great addition to a handy sales tool.

Try it out by calling 646-495-9203 with extension 46919. When you’re done, your recorded message will be added to the public SalesTeamTools drop.
